Yobe State University appoints acting VC, Registrar

The Governing Council of Yobe State University, Damaturu, has approved the appointment of Professor Bukar Jamri as the acting Vice Chancellor of the University.
The university’s Director of Information, Hajiya Uwani-Mamuda, said in a statement in Damaturu that the appointment would take effect from February 13.

According to her, Jamri’s appointment followed the expiration of the tenure of Professor Mala Daura, the incumbent VC of the University.
She said the council also approved the appointment of Malam Garba Girgir, as the acting Registrar of the University, with effect from January 15.
The director said that the two appointments were approved at an extraordinary meeting of the council on Wednesday.
Jamri was the Deputy VC, Administration, of the University.
