Trafficked daughter of Nollywood actress returns home after 4 years in Mali

Adeola, the daughter of ace actress Jumoke George, who was declared missing for four years, has been found.

Last week, in an interview with fellow actress Biola Bayo, George revealed that Adeola, 41, had been missing for four years.

“I don’t have a home, I don’t have anything, and a child of mine is missing,” she had said.

“I am tired. I have tried as a Christian. My firstborn, Adeolu, is missing. I’ve been looking for her for the past four years. She clocked 41 years. I’ve been taking care of her children.

“She stays with my mum, but one day my mum called to tell me that Deola said she’s coming to Lagos. I said I didn’t see her.

Later, she called me with a strange number. I asked where she was, but she asked me to forgive her because she doesn’t know how her journey will end.

“She said her friends told her they should travel to one country in search of greener pastures, but when they got there, it was another story. I haven’t heard from her since then.”

Following the interview, Bayo disclosed that Adeola had been spotted in Mali but had yet to contact her mother.

“Please tell her to call her mom, she is currently in the hospital and will be happy to speak with her at least,” she said on Instagram.

“I have tried calling her, but she has not been picking up anyone’s call, and her mom is really worried.”

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), confirmed Adeola’s return on Monday via a post on X.

Dabiri disclosed that the actress’s daughter was “trafficked” to Mali under the guise of seeking greener pastures.

“Adeola, daughter of popular actress, Jumoke George, who cried out that she had not heard from her daughter in four years, is back home from Mali, where she was trafficked to,” she wrote.

“Just received her with Biola Adebayo, who broke the story, and Niyi Johnson.”
