Bomb explosion in Kano kills 5, injures 15

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the death of five people and injuries to 15 others following a bomb explosion at a scrap collection site along the Eastern Bypass in Kano.

According to the State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the incident occurred on Saturday when a military-grade explosive detonated as a truck arrived from Yobe State.

Speaking to reporters, CP Bakori stated that he was called to the scene immediately after the explosion. “It was a military EOD personnel.

A military model bomb exploded, injuring 15 people, who were taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital. Upon arrival, five were confirmed dead, while ten others are receiving treatment” he said.

He explained that preliminary investigations revealed the truck carrying the explosive originated from Yobe State, although further inquiries are ongoing.

CP Bakori assured the public that more details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
