Super Falcons crowned Africa’s women’s team of the year
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been named the Women’s Team of the Year at the 2025 CAF Awards held on Wednesday night in Rabat, Morocco.
The record 10-time African champions earned the honour after a commanding performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they clinched the title on Moroccan soil. Their strong campaign placed them ahead of fellow nominees Ghana’s Black Queens and Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses.
This recognition reinforces the Falcons’ status as Africa’s most successful women’s national team and highlights their continued excellence, resilience and leadership in shaping women’s football across the continent.
