Lebara, a United Kingdom-based mobile virtual network operator, announced its entry into Nigeria as part of its broader expansion strategy into emerging markets. The company is expected to offer competitive mobile and data services, creating jobs and boosting connectivity across the country.

The President highlighted the importance of sustained foreign direct investment and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment. He also emphasised ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening infrastructure, regulatory stability and digital transformation.

Industry analysts say Lebara’s arrival could intensify competition in Nigeria’s telecom space, which is currently dominated by major operators, while potentially improving service quality and pricing for consumers.

The development marks another milestone in Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital economy, as the government seeks to position the country as a leading technology hub in Africa.
