APC declares Tinubu winner Of presidential primary with Over 10.9 million votes
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general election after securing 10,999,162 votes in the party’s nationwide presidential primary election.
Tinubu defeated his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, who polled 16,503 votes in the exercise conducted across the country’s 8,809 wards and 774 local government areas.

The chairman of the APC Presidential Primary Election Committee, Anyim Pius Anyim, announced the results on Sunday at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja, officially declaring Tinubu winner of the contest.
According to the committee, a total of 12,643,306 APC members were registered for the primary election, while 11,069,756 voters were accredited and 11,015,665 valid votes were recorded during the exercise.
Declaring the result, Anyim stated that Tinubu satisfied the constitutional requirements and guidelines of the party by polling the highest number of votes cast in the election.

“Having satisfied the requirements of the APC constitution and guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is hereby declared winner of the presidential primary election and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general election,” he said.
Reacting to the outcome of the primary election, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State described the exercise as peaceful and successful, adding that it demonstrated the unity and strength of the ruling party ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Tinubu’s victory officially confirms him as the APC flag bearer as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the next general elections.
