As part of his effort to support internally displaced persons from his constituency, the Senator representing Southern Borno, Mohammed Ali Ndume has presented 15 motorcycles to IDPs to cushion their hardships.
Senator Ndume observed that IDPs in the North East deserved support at this trying moment from Government, Non Governmental Organizations and individuals.
He said the gesture will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of the people of Southern Borno taking refuge in Abuja.
” In case of emergency especially at night, the motorcycles will be used to transport them without hitches, ” he said.
The lawmaker further shed more light, saying the motorcycles were not meant for commercial purposes.
“This is not for commercial purpose, it will serve as their official vehicle to ease their movement for better co-habitation and coordination of activities in each of the fifteen camps, ” he disclosed.
The former Senate Leader called on them to pray for lasting peace and commended them for their support to President Muhammadu Buhari during his recent trip from London.
The benefitting IDPs camp includes New Kuchingoro,Waru,Piyakasa,Wassa 1,Karmajiji, Area one, Sabon Gida,Taku Shara, Sabon Karshi, Sunshine/Malaysia, Kabusa,Wassa 2, Gongola ,Dogon Gada
