A former governorship aspirant in Plateau State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Nandom Penap, has been suspended by the party.

It was learnt that Nandom, also a former Council Chairman for Langtang North was suspended alongside seven others for forming a parallel state party exco.

A statement on Saturday by the Head of Media, State Caretaker Committee of the Party, John Akans said, “The working committee arm of the Plateau State Caretaker Committee at its emergency meeting held this evening Friday at state party’s Secretariat to review the unfortunate incidence that took place at the Secretariat where some group of rascals mischievously constituted themselves into a caretaker committee which is an affront to the national leadership of our party, under the leadership of His Excellency, Prince Uche Secondus.

“The state leadership of the party frowns at this dissidents and, therefore, approved their immediate suspension from the party with immediate effect.

“The attempt by this group of rascals is not only laughable and mischievous but infantile and an act of lawlessness to the extreme which the party can not condone.

The statement listed the names of others affected by the suspension to include Godwin W Bedir, Akims Mamot, Mrs Asabe Dareng, Nathaniel Dakas, Jacob Dashe and Alh Kabiru Musa.

The statement also called on party members to disregard the activities of the suspended persons and work together with the Yakubu Chocho- led leadership of the party as recognised by the PDP National Working Committee.
