Taraba Accuses Alhassan Of Playing Politics With Mambila Crisis

Taraba State Government has accused the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development Hajiya Aisha Alhassan of playing politics with Mambila crisis that recently erupted in the state.
The state government in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor of Taraba State , Bala Dan Abu  made available to journalists said the state government was highly disappointed by the comments credited to the minister accusing the  Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku’s led government of abandoning the people in the wake of the crisis.
The government said,”. Her desperate attempt to blame the government for the crisis is malicious, wicked and ungodly . It has portrayed her as a sadist and irresponsible public servant waiting always rejoice at the misfortune of victims of the crisis in the state.
“She has no soothing words for victims of the crisis in the state but she is ever always in a hurry to condemn the genuine and patriotic efforts of government to end the crisis and provide care for victims. It is clear that what is of paramount interest Hajiya Alhassan is her political ambition and it does not matter even she has to swim through the pool of the blood of victims of the crisis to achieve it.”
According to the statement promotion of peace is a cardinal programme of the present administration in the state, adding that the government has done more to guarantee peace in the state more than any other government in the past.
The government pointed out that several cases of herdsmen, farmers clashes were averted in the past through the preventive security measures put in place by the government. .
It said, ” Hajiya Aisha Alhassan also accused the governor of not talking to the people on the crisis. That again is untrue . For her information, the better approach in the crisis management is to act decisively to end the crisis before talking. What he did was widely carried in local and national media.”
The government urged the people to dismiss the utterance of the minister, saying it ,” is the ranting of a frustrated and desperate politician who has lost touch with the people at the grassroots.”
