A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Bibi Dogo, has described cry on the alleged electoral fraud, violence at the polls as well as the alleged plan by the PDP to marginalize Bauchi State Local Government election by the greedy politicians as an act of cowards’ mischievous.

A statement he distributed to newsmen in Bauchi on Sunday, Bibi Dogo said” for the last twelve no Local Government Election in Bauchi State, except with the coming of this administration of Governor Bala Mohammed who despite the lean resources of the State decided to conduct the free and fair election and fix 10th October for the election but greedy Politicians and self-centred Political opponents of the Governor always want to spread false rumours with the aim to cause confusion and draws the good aim and the intention of the governor Back.

He advised Security agents to please do their duty of protecting lives and Properties of the citizens by putting these greedy politicians on their watch list and arrest them whenever they make statements that are capable of causing chaos and disharmony among the citizens.

Dogo said Governor Bala Mohammed decided to conduct a Local Governments election in the best interest of the democracy and to save the Councils from the continuation of underdevelopment and to bring an end to the appointment of caretaker committees to rule the councils instead of elected officials.

He dismissed the claims of planning vote-rigging by the PDP, accusing it of trying to “discredit and destabilize” the election process that the time of the election is yet to come.

Dogo who was reacting to the Statements credited to Faruk Mustapha All Progressive candidate frontline Politician who called on the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) to save the state from any violent acts that may emanate from the forthcoming local government area councils election should it connive with any party to rig the elections.

“SIEC should not attempt to play a funny game by taking sides in the conduct of the elections. As the constitutional umpire, it should strive to maintain neutrality, be impartial in the conduct of the elections and declare results at the polling units in each of the wards and in the presence of all instead of in any other location it may designate other than the ones already outlined and known by all, We are receiving disturbing reports from our monitoring officers of ongoing plans to rob the victories of other contesting parties through carefully planned strategies by the ruling party, PDP that may not work unless with the active connivance of the umpire”.

He advised political opponents of the Governor to drop their self-centred ambition and cooperate with the Government in order to conduct a free fair and acceptable election that will respect the wishes of the majority.
Dogo commended Governor Bala for his vision for the state especially by his determination to conduct Local Government election and his zeal to execute laudable Physical projects for all to see that will develop the state.
