PMB, governors, global scholars to attend combined Maulud in Bauchi

President Muhammadu Buhari; Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Muhammed Abdulkadir, and other governors; emirs, maghrib scholars, sheriffs sheikhs, are billed to attend the combined Maulud of Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani and Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass holding on 10th October 2020 in Bauchi, the state capital.

A statement signed by Muhammad Jibril Sogiji, Secretary, Publicity Sub-Committee said that the marking of the event globally in Nigeria commences with the arrival of guest from Tuesday 6th October.

The three days events from (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) will commence with the opening ceremony and lectures by eminent Islamic scholars at Zaranda Hotel Bauchi which will attract emirs, scholars, and delegates from within and outside the country.

Leader of Tijjaniyyah, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, whose Foundation organized the combined Maulud said that the event was organized to honour a servant of God, grandsons of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani and Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass who dedicated their lives towards the services of Islam and lived an exemplary life filled with fear of God and noble character.

Sheikh said the event shows the light and strength of Islam and urged security agencies, the people of Nigeria and neighbouring states where guest will pass through on their way to the venue and on their way back to their homes to be hospitable and be their brothers’ keepers.

He said because of the COVID-19 pandemic the Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass Maulud was supposed to hold in the month of Rajab but was postponed and they decided to combine the two in Bauchi.

The Scholar said the programme was designed to improve the relationship among  Tijjaniyyah adherents across the globe and immortalize the late Islamic scholars.

He said, “the essence of the celebration is to further cement the existing mutual relationship of the adherents of Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani all over the world, to immortalize and commemorate the legacy and teachings of the two Sheikhs and to pray for a peaceful co-existence of the entire nation”.

Chairman of the Steering Committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Sheikh Dahiru Usman, said that prominent Islamic clerics from Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania, United States of America, Mali Egypt, Senegal, Sudan, Ghana, Cameroon, Niger and other European and African countries are expected to grace the occasion which President Muhammadu Buhari will be a distinguished guest of honour.

Sheikh Muhamad Mahiy Nyass, Grand Kalifah of Faydah is also going to be the special guest of honour while Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir will be the chief host; Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar, Emir of Kwara, Emir of Kano, the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Usman Shehu Abubakar and the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Dr Rilwanu Suleymanu Adamu will be the Royal Fathers of the day.

Grand Khalifa and other prominent Islamic scholars are expected to address the gathering at the occasion.

Ibrahim said that Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi and Maulana Sheikh Sheriff Ibrahim Saleh Al-Husseyn are expected to address the muslims during the opening ceremony of Scholars Week (Makon Shehu).

The events will continue up to Friday afternoon where  the programme will feature special Jumaat prayer, and Jummaat Dhikr will be conducted with the Tijjaniyyah leader, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.

He said before the grand finale of the occasion, Friday was set aside as a special day scheduled for Sheikhs, Khalifahs and Tijjaniyya Muqaddams meeting, Makon Shehu would be rounded off on Friday while the grand finale of the event will come up at the IBB square, Bauchi between 10 a.m to 1:30 p.m on Saturday 10th october 2020.

He urged all participating states to follow Covid-19 prevention protocols and  remain calm and resolute to the fact maximum security has been provided to ensure that the event record remarkable success.
