2 medical doctors kidnapped in Kogi

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kogi State chapter, on Friday, announced that two medical doctors in the state have been kidnapped.

Dr Ebiloma Yahaya Aduku who is working at the Zonal Hospital, Ankpa, and Dr Kelechi Mgbahurike at Christ the King Hospital, Anyigba, were said to be kidnapped on the 6th and 7th of October respectively in their hospital while at work.

In a statement signed by the chairman of the association, Dr Simeon Omakoji and the Secretary, Dr Famotele Tolorunju said:

“The whereabouts of the doctors was unknown, although, the kidnappers have contacted relations of the victims demanding ransom. Therefore, the state’s NMA has appealed to security agencies to swing into action for the safe release of the abducted doctors”.

In response, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP William Aya, has promised to contact Ankpa and Ayingba Divisional Police Stations on the incident for further actions.
