A mobile court set up by the State Director, Roads Traffic, Malam Hamisu Gulma have impounded at least twenty three vehicles in the state.
According to him, the routine operation is aimed at inspecting vehicles to ensure they are road worthy and punish traffic offenders, particularly those with expired licenses or have none at all.
Lawal added that the magistrate have prosecuted those found wanting and a sum of seventy thousand naira was realised through the fines while in addition, those whose vehicles have defects were compelled to effect repairs.
The chief VIO appealed to vehicle owners and motorists in the state to be traffic conscious and ensure their vehicles meet the specified requirements before plying the roads to reduce accidents.
