From Auwal Garba, Gombe.
About 5,000 IDPs and less privilege in Gombe state are to benefit from free medical outreach organized by the Presidential Committee on North East Initiative (PCNI).
The Vice chairman of PCNI, Alhaji Tijjani Musa Tumsah disclosed this in an interview with news men shortly after inspecting the venue of the outreach yesterday in Gombe.
Tumsah said the outreach would last for one week and about 70 health workers, volunteers  and 30 doctors were deployed to work.
He said their target is 5,000 persons but from what they saw on ground, they may surpass the initial target because of the number of people coming.
The vice chairman also commended people for behaving in an orderly fashion, adding that they should remain calm to access the free health care.
Also speaking, Dr Samson Egbunu, Co-ordinator of the outreach, said a team of Doctors from Pro-Health International were invited by the PCNI to conduct the outreach in collaboration with some health workers from the state Specialist Hospital.
He said they conducted a numerous number of eye, dental and general surgery at the commencement of the programme.
