We have witnessed numerous infrastructural projects under Buni – Yobe commissioner for works

As part of recovery and resettlement efforts from Boko Haram insurgency and destructions, Engr. Umaru Duddaye, Commissioner Ministry of Works has enumerated some of the achievements of Governor Mai Mala Buni in Yobe State.

He listed on Wednesday during a media tour to some of the projects spread across the state.

According to him, “the administration of Hon. Mai Mala Buni has put emphasis on infrastructural development, particularly in the provision of roads and drainages in urban and rural areas of the state as part of his developmental agenda.

“Within the short period of time of his administration, the Executive Governor was able to put in place positive landmarks that cut across all the three senatorial zones of the state”.

Among the projects he listed are the construction of 4 kilometer road and 8 kilometer concrete drain at Buni Yadi, the headquarters of Gujba Local Government Area which has already been completed.

Others are the construction of a 1.6-kilometer road and a 3.2-kilometer concrete drain at Damagum the headquarters of the Fune Local Government Area also completed.

“Construction of 1.5-kilometer road and 3.0-kilometer concrete drain at Babban Gida, the headquarters of Tarmuwa local government area completed, construction of 2.3-kilometer road and concrete drainage at Jajimaji the headquarters of Karasuwa local government area also completed. Construction of 800-meter laterite road and culvert along works quarters in Damaturu also being enjoyed by the residents”.

Duddaye also explained that the state government has repaired potholes and eroded roads within Damaturu, constructed box culvert along Damaturu-Gashua road, 1.0-kilometer road and 2.0-kilometer concrete drains at Mallum Mattari, embarked on the 16-kilometer road from Nguru to Balanguwa road construction, 12-kilometer Damagum-Gubana road, 2.6-kilometer road and 5.2-kilometer concrete drains at Potiskum township road.

“In less than a year, Yobe State government is buzzing with tremendous achievements, this is in line with the administration’s determination to provide social services which would enhance socio-economic activities across the state”.
