Story by Haruna Aliyu Usman in Kebbi state
The Kebbi state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Architect Bala Sani Kangiwa, has denied reports that the state chapter of the party was charging N200 as registration fee, in the ongoing party registration in the state.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had flagged off a nationwide membership registration, update, and re-validation exercise for the party.
Bala who revealed that Kebbi state was yet to commence its own registration exercise denied the reports of any form of registration fee for the exercise.
He said that Kebbi will officially kick off its membership registration and re-validation on February the 9th 2021 across the state, which will include all the wards in the state.
“We are yet to commence the membership registration officially in the state, so where that emanated from is a surprise to me,” he said.
Bala who could not give an estimated number of members the party expects said the state will exhaust the booklets they were supplied by the headquarters of the APC, adding that no fee was charged by the national party as only it can assign the amount to be paid when the time comes.
Meanwhile all registration points in Kebbi are set for the commencement of the exercise.
