Following widespread complaints by Kano residents over power supply related problems, the Kano State House of Assembly has set up an ad-hoc committee to investigate the complaints.

Recently, power consumers across the state intensified complaints about the failure of KEDCO to ensure a stable power supply despite the electricity tariff increment approved by the federal government.

In a prompt response to such complaints, the House Speaker, Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari constituted the panel to thoroughly investigate and submit it’s findings within two weeks timeframe.

The House member, representing Ungogo local government, Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo, sponsored the motion requesting the House to investigate the matter during Wednesday’s plenary.

Hon Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo while presenting the motion, raised serious concerns over what he described as negligence attitude by the electricity distribution company KEDCO particularly in response to the complaints of their customers, saying this would not be allowed to continue unchecked.
