Having read through the letter delivered to Sheikh Abduljabbar and listened to an interview granted by the Honourable Commissioner for Religious Affairs of Kano state, I felt there are a few things to look at again.
The disposition of the state government as reiterated by the Honourable Commissioner for Religious Affairs of trying to be fair and just to all parties involved is of utmost importance to note that, there are specific individual scholars that made public statements against Sheikh Abduljabbar which led to the proposed dialogue. These scholars are the ones that are supposed to be strictly invited to come out with their allegations with a view to sorting them out.

As part of fairness and justice, Sheikh Abduljabbar should be duly informed in good time the scholars approved to sit with him, the issues to be discussed, the modus operandi of the meeting and the moderators for acceptance, comments, observations and/or otherwise.
It’ll be very unfair if those that were at the front of castigating him will not be present but send representations. It should be a situation where everyone that is aggrieved with his style is there to speak face to face with him or keep mute forever.
Personally, I’ve watched video clips of prominent Wahhabi scholars registering their displeasure with Sheikh Abduljabbar’s style. This should be a golden opportunity for them to come out clean. Onlookers will be glad to see the dialogue featuring notable scholars like Dr Sani Rijiyar Lemo, Sheikh Abdulwahab, Dr Bashir, Sheikh Gadon Kaya, Professor Abdullahi Pakistan, Sheikh Daurawa, Sheikh Asadussunnah and their likes.
It’s high time to put an end to this interminable misunderstandings and allegations. This is also the right time “to bell the cat.”
Time will tell if the Kano state government is truly on the fence or not.
Peace be upon those who follow the guidance.
