President Muhammadu Buhari has declared Zamfara State a no-fly-zone.
The President has also announced a ban on all mining activities in Zamfara state to curb the rising insecurity in the area.
National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd) disclosed this to State House correspondents after a five-hour national Security Council meeting presided over by President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
General Monguno also stated that all non-state actors have been placed under surveillance as the Federal Government will not hesitate to use kinetic means to restore normalcy in the country.
The NSA said the country’s defence and intelligence organization have been put on alert and charged not to allow the country to slide into a state of anarchy.
“We can no longer afford to lose lives while operating within the legalities. We are not going to be blackmailed. The government has the responsibility to assert its will.
“Citizens can reside wherever they want to reside. Anybody who is a criminal should be brought to book. The president has also warned against ethnic profiling. We have had enough of chaos .
“Any individual that thinks he can cause disunity, should have a rethink,” he said.
Monguno also said the President, in the meeting, gave a marching order to the new service chiefs to reclaim all areas under the control of bandits, insurgents, and kidnappers.
