A Kano state born technology genius, Sa’adatu Aliyu has developed an app called ‘Helpio app’.
The app was launched on Playstore in August of 2020 and is specifically designed to help report sexual abuse cases following the increase in rape cases across the nation.
During the International Women’s Day on the 8th of March 2021, the presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad celebrated her via his Twitter page.
He wrote, “Sa’adatu Aliyu, a Kano-born young lady, has developed an android application ‘Helpio App’ for reporting cases of sexual abuse.
‘Helpio App’ was launched on August 6, 2020, on Playstore”.
Sa’adatu is the founder of Shamrock Innovations, Women and Youth-Centric Tech Innovation Hub in Kano.
The hub is a tech establishment where young women are trained to become tech developers too.
She said that any person can visit Playstore on an android phone and install the app.
“You can go to the Play store, search for it and install it. After Installation, you can sign up using email and password either in Hausa or English language,” Sa’adatu said in a recent interview with Channels Television.
She added saying, “So far the Initiative for Support of Victims of Sexual abuse, Orphans and Less privileged (ISSOL) and Equity Destitute, Child Right and Welfare initiative (EDCRAWI) have signed up in the platform.”
She recalled that she started learning IT skills from her brother when she was in junior secondary school and subsequently became a self-taught developer.
The young lady said her next project will be launched very soon and is fintech-oriented conceived to continue making an impact on women and people’s lives by advocating and developing solutions.
Today, she has gone relatively far in the field of tech development. She has attended tech events such as the Facebook F8 conference.
The conference which is held annually in the USA is for young tech developers who build product and services around the Facebook app.
