The Department of Correctional Services in South Africa has said that they were ashamed of the viral videos of a female warder who was caught having sex with a prisoner in one of the offices at the prison in KwaZulu-Natal.
Singabakho Nxumalo, a spokesperson for the department, confirmed the authenticity of the video, he further stated that “the flustering scenes of alleged sexual activity between an official and an inmate at the Ncome Correctional Centre, KwaZulu-Natal Region, have left the agency appalled, embarrassed and gutted”.
“Sexual activities between inmates and correctional officials are shameful incidents that can never be ascribed to what is expected of our officials,” he said.
“Correctional officials are expected to abide by a code of conduct, and despicable acts of sexual activities with inmates shall never be tolerated.”
“Disciplinary measures have also been instituted against the inmate. Despicable acts of sexual activities with inmates shall never be tolerated.”
The female warder in the video was later identified as Mrs Khumalo, a married woman with three children, this was disclosed by a woman who claims to be her husband’s cousin.
She also stated that the family are still in great shock from what has happened and that her children were stopped from going to school as they were traumatized by the video clip that has been circulating on social media.
But in another post, it did not take long for black Twitter detectives to dig up the identities of the two. And judging by the circulating images and strong evidence, the two are actually a married couple.
“The Prison warder and the prisoner are husband and wife. The husband then got convicted and they have not divorced,” one person said.
In another post, there are speculations that she might have allegedly committed suicide.
