Bauchi and Gombe State parliamentary workers reportedly shut down state Assembly complexes.
This was in the order of directives by the national leadership of the Parliamentary Association of Nigeria to embark on a nationwide indefinite strike.
The strike is a result of the non-implementation of the Financial Autonomy Act 2018 and Presidential Order 10.
Placards were plastered on the walls of the main entrance of the Assembly, affirming their demands.
Members of the union were seen early Tuesday morning closing down major entries to the assembly complex of both states, preventing staff from gaining access.
After their threat to continue their protest and hold all State Houses of Assembly if their demands were not met, the union finally embarked on a strike two weeks after they staged a protest at the gate of the National Assembly in Abuja.
The workers also called on members of the National Assembly to take the required steps to ensure the implementation of financial autonomy for the judiciary.
