Bandits have killed two police officers attached to Operation PUFF ADDER II in Sokoto State.

The policemen which were a part of the contingent that the Inspector-General of Police, Muhammad Adamu, deployed to tackle banditry, lost their lives in an attack by a group of outlaws in Bargaja village of Issa Local Government Area.

In a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunusi Abubakar stated that the Commissioner of Police, Kamaldeen Okunlola paid a condolence visit to the Operation Commander.

Mr Okunlola, who commiserated with the families on Thursday, hailed their efforts so far and pledged support to strengthen and sustain the capacity of the unit.

Okunlola bemoaned the death of the personnel during active service and vowed that the culprits would be apprehended.
