The PCNI medical outreach train returned to Gombe and commenced the delivery of free medical services over a two-week period from the 16th to the 28th of July.
It was the latest stop on a circuit that has over the past year traversed the six states of the north-east zone catering for the health care needs of vulnerable persons who typically lack access to health services.
The circuit is also a demonstration of PCNI’s commitment to enhancing access to qualitative health care For those residents in the region. The outreach which was carried out in collaboration with Pro-health International was conducted out of the Specialist Hospital, Gombe and the General Hospital in Kaltungo.
The mission which encompassed a broad range of medical specialties attended to 10, 217 patients, performed 348 surgeries, 3,219 dental procedures, 5,548 lab tests, 316 eye surgeries and distributed 699 prescription spectacles among other services. The medical mission will return to the zone soon.
