The Nigeria Police have arrested a Pastor, a Pastor’s wife, and one other for alleged human trafficking in the Oviri-Ogor community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State acting Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident while adding that the suspects had initially trafficked a 23-year- old girl, identified as Oghenfejiro Obotakpore to a yet to be identified woman in Bayelsa State before taking her to Libya.
DSP Edafe added that the investigation is still on and that he believed that the girl has been asked to come back to Nigeria.
The suspects, identified as Mr Sunday Adeyemi, an assistant Pastor of a White Garment Church, in connivance with the wife of a Pastor, were arrested at the community after a text message from the trafficked lady to one of her relatives about her ordeal in Libya and the leadership of the community was notified.

A senior police officer of the Division told journalists that “on April 10, 2021, a community leader from Oviri-Ogor came and reported that, the suspect conspired with one woman whose real name is yet to be identified, to traffic one Fejiro Obotakpore Marian, aged 23, from Afiesere community but resides in Oviri-Ogor to Libya without the consent of her parents, hence the complaint.
“They are yet to be charged to court because of the strike action but would be charged immediately as soon as investigations are concluded,” the security source said.
