Fati Abubakar, popularly known as Fati Shuuma or Fati sai na auri Zango is not only beautiful and lovely but also stubborn, controversial and arrogant. Most of Kannywood directors and producers prefer to give her roles where she acts arrogant and uncompromising character or other related roles.
The 27-years-old orphan has a hidden ambition which is to be successful in her chosen career, which she has almost achieved after staying in Kannywood for a very long time.
On whether she zips down for some directors or big shots in the Hausa industry that made it possible for her to rise fast in the profession, her answer, is me? Who born monkey? to zip down for the role, it is even better for me to be caught in a serious romance with a popular actor, in that case, I will not be ashamed of what happened not somebody of lesser status. I am in a class of my own I am fine, lively of average height and possess all that a decent or an attractive lady suppose to have.

On her godfather in the industry, she mentioned one Alhassan Lokeshin who linked her up with Sani Danja and before you know it she is rubbing shoulders with those that matters in Kannywood.
“My first film is Sai Na Auri Adam Zango, and I also featured in several high budget films like Shuuma, Al’ajabi, Uwar Mugu, Ta’addanci, Rumaisa and a host of others. If the price is right I can play any role for you, even the wayward roles I play in films depends on the price, the higher the price the more arrogant and wayward I can be”.
On marriage, she said, “well I am planning that I should not expire before I settle down like I use to tell people, but if you insist to know the date I will tell you that there is no definite date. I am only trying to ward off the pressure of those who may disturb me about marriage so you can read across the line.
“If I love you so deep I can sacrifice anything for your love, Fatima Shuuma plans to be a producer after settling down but if her husband put her in kulle, she will stay put and obey his rules.
“Let me tell you, I don’t want to marry a young bachelor, I prefer a married man who will take care of me based on his experience, not a young guy who will marry me after sometimes will start womanizing outside” she noted.
On her type of man, she revealed that she wants a tall, hairy, romantic, black and strong person.
“The people I admire most in Kannywood are, as for men Adam A. Zango is always my favourite, then as for female, I like and respect Aisha Aliyu Tsamiya, in fact, three films that she supposed to play the lead role were given to me. Because for one reason or the other and she never complained, I love and respect her for that, she joined the industry before me, she is beautiful like me and an A grade star, yet she never take offence when her roles were given to me”.
In Al-Ajabi where I fall in love with a mad man that happened to be Ali Nuhu, she was the one to play the role but she fell sick and I stepped into her shoes, the film was successful yet she took it in good faith, honestly, Aisha Aliyu is my role model.
EXCERPTS OF THE INTERVIEW
Neptune Prime: Fati, so you are from Kaduna State, seeing you personally, you look friendly and cool.
Fati: Well, I am from Bauchi State, but born and brought up in Kaduna. I attended my primary and secondary schools in Kaduna State, I am 27-years-old and that is me for you.
NP: How did you join Kannywood?
Fati: Well, I already explained this in an interview I had with you earlier. The most important thing now is I am in Kannywood and a fast-rising star, in fact, Aisha Aliyu Tsamiya and I are now the toast of Kannywood. We are both young, pretty and interprets our roles with a passion. In Kannywood, I admire Adam A. Zango a lot and Aisha Aliyu is my role model.
NP: People are saying you are arrogant and wayward, is that true?
Fati: How? It is the role I play in films, that has nothing to do with my real life, but I am pretty, why should I be cheap. Kannywood has changed me, I hardly go out now without wearing hijab, because of my popular face.
NP: Did you encounter the so-called sex for role saga?
Fati: Pay me and I will play any role for you. The money you are paying me does not include sex, and if I am to be engaged in a sex scandal it will not be with a director or producer, but with a first-class actor, that I will not regret if I zip down for him.
NP: What is your ultimate desire in life?
Fati: Well, I admire President Buhari a lot, the other time u interviewed me I told you that I wouldn’t mind marrying Buhari but you overblew the story.
NP: Apart from that, what other qualities do you need in a man?
Fati: He should be tall, because I am of average height, hairy I mean (sage), black and strong. I want to enjoy my life to the fullest, but quote me if I love you I can do anything to marry you, you also asked me why I accepted to be Sani Danja’a wife in Akeelah, he is not a big deal because the film belongs to his former wife Mansura Isah.
