The gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, held a meeting with aggrieved members of the party that lost at the primary elections.
The reconciliation meeting with the aggrieved aspirants was convened by the gubernatorial candidate to mend fences.
The meeting, which lasted for hours at the APC Square, was attended by the leader of the party in the state, Sen. Danjuma Goje, and some aspirants that lost the governorship primary.
However, it was observed that only Abubakar Habu Mu’azu, Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki and Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo Waziri, out of the eight contestants that vied for the governorship ticket with Inuwa, were at the meeting.
Some of the aggrieved aspirants, who spoke at the meeting, pledged loyalty to the party despite losing the primary and they promised to work for the victory of the party.
In their submissions, Umaru Kawu Barambu, Babaji Babadidi and Umar Shuaibu Galadima, who were aspirants for Akko, Balanga/Billiri and Yamaltu/Deba federal constituencies respectively, appealed to the party’s governorship flag-bearer to reward their sacrifice and loyalty if he subsequently won the election in February 2019.
