Mala Buni, Yobe APC Guber Candidate In Cruise Control As Thousands Decamp PDP

One week to the general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe state and its Gubernatorial candidate, Honourable Mai Mala Buni has expanded its fortunes and riding on cruise control with more defections into the party in Jakusko and Potiskum local government areas.

Over 10,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defected to APC to support the party win the Presidential, governorship, national and legislative elections.

In Jakusko, Dr. Mairo Amshi, a former PDP senatorial Candidate, leading the decampees, said they abandoned PDP to support APC consolidate developments initiated by the ruling party at both national and state levels.

“We pledge our support and loyalty to APC and would work for the success of the party in the forthcoming general elections”, she said.

Dr Amshi, expressed confidence that APC would provide more democracy dividends to the people including more roads, economic empowerment programs, healthcare and education among others.

Alhaji Maimala Buni assured that his administration will provide youth with employment opportunities.

“I want to assure our youth that there are great plans to accommodate more youth to be productive”, exhorting them to “therefore engage yourselves in productive ventures and you will be supported by government”, he assured.

Similarly, the governorship hopeful, while addressing supporters in Potiskum, were over 30,000 decampees from various parties were received, said agriculture will be on the priority list of his administration to boost food security and economic growth.

He assured continuity, consolidation and expansion of the programs and policies of the Gaidam administration.

“Our leader has laid a solid developmental foundation; we will build on it to further promote affordable and accessible healthcare delivery, quality education and viable economic empowerment programs”, he said.

Another promise that was highly welcomed by the people of Potiskum, Yobe State’s commercial hub, is the possibility of unbanning the use of motorcycles, a source of income to over 30% of the town’s youths.

Various speakers at the occasion, including youth leaders, pledged to deliver the state to the party and ensure the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari, Maimala Buni and all APC candidates.
