The death has occurred of Hajiya Hadiza Shehu Kangiwa.
She was the first grand daughter of the late Premier of the Northern region, Sardauna of Sokoto, Alhaji Ahmadu Bello.
According to her friend, Hajiya Binta Tafawa Balewa, daughter of the first and last Prime Minister of Nigeria, Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, “Hajiya Hadiza Shehu Kangiwa was the wife of late Alhaji Shehu Kangiwa, a former Governor of Sokoto State.

“She was the first grand daughter of Sardauna and the first daughter of his eldest daughter, Hajiyo Inno Ahmadu Bello.
“Her father was the Wambai of Kano, late Abubakar Dan Maje, eldest son of Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi 1.
She said late Hadiza was born in 1960 and is survived by three children: one son and two daughters.
Her funeral prayer was observed at the residence of the late premier at Diori Hammani road, Sokoto and she has been buried according to Islamic rites.
A family member, Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Maradun said the deceased was very humble despite her famous background.
