5 feared dead as gas explosion rocks Lagos

At least five lives were lost to a gas explosion that rocked Ojekunle Street, Papa Ajao, close to the popular Ladipo automobile spare parts market in Lagos on Tuesday morning.

Ibrahim Farinloye of the National Emergency Management Agency who disclosed this to the Associated Press (AP) said, “There are four adults dead, three males and one female; a 10-year-old boy died in the incident,” adding that rescue operations were still ongoing as at press time.

Reports say that the explosion took place at a filling station at about 8 am on Tuesday, November 16.

Dead victims were said to have since been evacuated from the scene, even as others were believed to be trapped inside the explosion.
