Gov. Bello signs 2022 draft budget into law

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has signed the 2022 Appropriation Bill into law.
Signing the document, Governor Bello expressed hope that the budget will be geared towards accelerating and consolidating on the achievements recorded so far.

He stated that government will continue to consolidate in the areas of the economy through infrastructural development with security being improved upon for the economic development of the State.
The Governor assured that government will continue to be transparent in its financial dealings and ensure a high level of probity and accountability in governance.
Governor Bello promised that the resources available to the State will be used for the benefit of the people and thanked the Speaker and members of the State House of Assembly for working assiduously on the budget.
According to him, the cordial relationship between the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary in the state was responsible for the prompt action on the budget.
In an address, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole, noted that the House Committee worked diligently on the bill to ensure speedy passage and assent.
Prince Matthew Kolawole while thanking the Governor for providing a conducive environment for the House to operate, called for the construction of a befitting office complex for the Legislature as well as assent to the Financial Management Bill for the House of Assembly and the Judiciary.
The Governor also signed the Local Government Audit bill into law.
