Gov Adeleke quits PDP, blames national leadership crisis

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing persistent leadership crises rocking the party at the national level.

In a statement shared on his social media page on Monday, December 1, the governor revealed that he had formally withdrawn his membership from the PDP nearly a month earlier. According to him, his resignation letter was submitted to his ward chairman on Tuesday, November 4, a copy of which he also posted online.

Adeleke’s exit makes him the fifth governor to leave the PDP in 2025, deepening concerns over the party’s internal turmoil and continued wave of defections.
