After 3 weeks in captivity, Zamfara police rescue 2 kidnap victims 

The Zamfara State Police command has rescued two people that were abducted by bandits few weeks ago.

The security personnel also revealed that the victims have been in captivity for three weeks before they were rescued.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the spokesperson for the Zamfara state police command, SP Mohammed Shehu, said the two victims were rescued unconditionally.

Shehu said the victims were abducted on October 16 at Magami District of Kaura-namoda Local Government Area of the state.

He said, “The victims were rescued unconditionally during an extensive search and rescue operations conducted at Dumburum and Gidan Jaja forest in Zurmi LGA.

Adding that the rescued victims have undergone medical examination and treatment and have been debriefed by the police.

The statement added, “The Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba Elkanah, sympathised with the victims for the suffering they passed through within the period they spent in captivity.

He assured the people of the state that the police in collaboration with other security agencies and the state government will continue to work as a team to ensure the unconditional rescue of all kidnapped victims across the state.”

According to the statement, the police commissioner further called on members of the public to continue to support the security operatives in the ongoing operations against bandits and other criminals in the state.
