After 9 months, troops in Zamfara rescue 1 abducted corps member

A collective effort of the security forces led by the officers and soldiers of 2 Battalion under I Division of Nigeria Army, Kaduna, has successfully saved one of the last two potential corps members abducted in Zamfara in August last year.

With this rescue, a total of seven out of the eight corps members abducted have been rescued.

Efforts are still ongoing to ensure the safe release of the remaining male corps member who is still being held by the kidnappers.

Commenting on the rescue, the Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, praised the brave efforts of the Nigerian Army and other security forces for their dedication and commitment to rescuing the Prospective Corps Members.

He expressed confidence that the remaining Prospective Corps Member will also be freed soon.

In a statement by the director of press and public relations Eddy Megwa, the Director General YD Ahmed advised all potential and serving corps members to refrain from traveling at night and always be vigilant about their security at all times.
