After bombarding each other, Israel, Iran agree to total ceasefire, Trump reveals

United States President Donald Trump, on Monday night, announced a “total ceasefire” between warring Iran and Israel, saying the development will take place in the coming hours.

Posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, he wrote: “CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!”

He said this was a war that “could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East”, but it “didn’t, and never will”.

However, both Israel and Iran had yet to confirm or deny the development.

This development is coming shortly after Iran launched missiles at US military bases in Qatar and Iraq on Monday evening.

State TV called the attack a “powerful” response to recent American strikes on key nuclear sites.

“The operation of Iranian missiles against American bases located in Qatar and in Iraq has begun, and is called ‘Blessing of Victory’,” the official press agency IRNA said.
