Creative industry leader and media entrepreneur, Nathaniel J. Ogwuche, popularly known as Nate Genius, has emphasised the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a key driver of Africa’s creative economy, urging young people to embrace its opportunities.
Ogwuche made this known in Abuja during a media briefing to unveil the Genius Creators Summit 2025, a major initiative aimed at equipping African youths with AI skills for storytelling and content creation at no cost.
The summit is expected to gather creators, innovators, technologists, investors, and policymakers to explore the role of AI in transforming Africa’s creative landscape.
The theme of this year’s summit is “AI & The Future of Content in Africa’s Creative Economy.”
Participants will receive hands-on training in AI-powered tools and techniques that can enhance creativity, boost productivity, and expand economic opportunities.
Among the dignitaries expected to grace the occasion is Hannatu Musa Musawa, Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, who will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
“The Genius Creators Summit is more than an event — it’s the beginning of a movement,” Ogwuche said.
“For years, I’ve watched Africa’s creative community grow rapidly, but often without the structure, tools, and platforms needed to sustain that growth. This summit represents a turning point — a chance for creators, innovators, and policymakers to sit at the same table and have honest conversations about the future of creativity, technology, and ownership in Africa.”
He further expressed hope that stronger partnerships between government, the private sector, and the creative community will be forged through the summit.
“The endorsement and participation of leaders like the Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy show that the conversation around creativity is finally being taken seriously at a national level,” Ogwuche added.
“Even if only a few people walk away from this summit with a renewed vision for their craft and a deeper understanding of their power in shaping Africa’s digital economy, then we’ve achieved something truly meaningful,” he said.
