Alleged Murder: Kenya’s DCI arrests Nigerian man for lover’s death

Detectives of Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested Christian Mwambay Kadima, a Nigerian accused of murdering his Kenyan lover on Thursday night.

Kadima was allegedly sighted leaving the apartment of the deceased, a prominent female lawyer found dead inside her bedroom in Syokimau, Machakos County in Nairobi.

A domestic manager who alerted authorities grew suspicious after the city-renowned lawyer did not wake up prompting her to visit her bedroom where she discovered her body yesterday, January 8.

Reports say the body of the deceased had bloody bruises, and that Kadima was living with the deceased.

DCI detectives began a manhunt for the accused yesterday morning and arrested him in the evening.

A statement by the police unit said the accused was “smoked out at a lodging in the city. Kadima had tried to outsmart our officers by driving his getaway car to Riruta, to create a false impression on his whereabouts. However, our sleuths were too clever for his antics. He is currently in lawful custody, being processed for his despicable act.”

The accused remains innocent until proven guilty.
