APC national secretary, Senator Omisore, resigns

Senator Iyiola Omisore, the National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has tendered his resignation. This news comes shortly after the resignation of the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, on Sunday night.

Sources within the party have hinted at the simultaneous resignations of Senator Adamu and Senator Omisore. Confirming these speculations, News Point Nigeria has learned that Omisore officially resigned just an hour ago after being denied entry to the emergency National Working Committee (NWC) meeting of the APC.

Despite being an early arrival at the meeting, Omisore left the party secretariat in apparent frustration, without addressing the media. A source close to the Acting Chairman, Senator Abubakar Kyari, revealed that the NWC had received Omisore’s resignation.

As per the party’s constitution, the duties of the National Secretary will temporarily be taken over by the Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, who will serve as the acting National Secretary of the APC during this transitional phase.
