No fewer than 330 Internally Displaced Persons in NYSC camp Borno State benefited from medical outreach offered by Seven Division of the Nigeria Army.
The intervention was part of Army Day Celebration 2017 and already some IDPs in other camps around the State have enjoyed the free medical services.
Flagging off the exercise, the Acting Corps commander, Brigadier General Clifford Wanda said the intervention was part of their corporate responsibility.
According to him, “no target was given for the number of beneficiaries, they cut across children, males, and females”
The areas of the intervention he noted include general consultation, dental care, surgical referrals, eye check up and immunization against childhood diseases.
Speaking briefly with journalists, the Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai said the Army will continue to support the less privileged in the society.
Some of the IDPs interviewed commended the Army for touching their lives which they described as first of its kind in recent times.
