As Kogi gov’t swears in 3 Judges, Gov. Yahaya Bello calls for transparency

Judicial Officers in Kogi State have been called upon to remain steadfast in upholding the constitution of the country.

Governor Yahaya Bello made the call in a message during the swearing-in of three new Judges of the High Court of Justice at the Glass House Lokoja.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja said promotion of justice is the hope of the society, noting that the state Judiciary has lived up to expectations in the administration of Justice.

Governor Yahaya said the state government will continue to partner with the Judiciary and the legislative branch of government for the development of the state.

He congratulated the new Judges on their appointment and expressed optimism that they will live above board.

Earlier, Kogi State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Muhammad Sani maintained that due process is strictly followed in the appointment of the Judges, noting that the State Judiciary is one of the best in the country.

Also speaking, the state Chief Judge, Justice Richard Olorufemi said the state Judiciary will continue to promote Justice and commended Governor Yahaya Bello for giving Judiciary enabling environment to perform its duties.

Responding on behalf of the Judges, Justice A S Ibrahim expressed gratitude for the appointment and promised to carry on their duties without fear or favour.

Others sworn in are; Justice Suleiman Abdallah and Justice Aminu Ali Eri.
