At least, 530 intending pilgrims have paid Hajj fare as NAHCON allocates 614 seats to Jigawa

No less than 530 intending pilgrims have deposited their money into the account of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board as the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) allocated 614 seats to the state for the 2022 Hajji exercise.
The Director Admin and Finance and also acting executive secretary of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Mustapha Umar, revealed this to newsmen in Dutse, the state’s capital.

He said they have received a letter of seat allocation from NAHCON for the 2022 exercise and now they are waiting for the commission to inform them of the Hajji fares.
“As we received the allocation, already 530 people have deposited their money for the 2021 exercise which was cancelled but they left their money with us against the 2022 exercise”.
“We in Jigawa state have resolved to consider those who have already deposited their monies since last year before others and as soon as NAHCON announces this year’s Hajj fares, we will mobilise them to complete their balance of the fares.”
He, however, revealed that the remaining seats will be sold on a first come first serve basis and promised to ensure justice in releasing the seats.
Mustapha also reiterated the commitment of the board to ensure compliance with the Saudi Arabia and NAHCON guidelines for the exercise, including observance of Covid-19 vaccines, and protocols.
