Atiku, Abbo, Senator Binani hold coalition meeting in Yola
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has launched a fresh call for a united political movement aimed at removing President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
In that regard, Atiku, Senator Ishaku Abbo, Senator Aishatu Binani, and some members of the All Progressives Congress held a coalition meeting in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
Atiku, who contested and lost the 2023 presidential election under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), reiterated the need for political unity to oust APC in 2027.
Addressing a crowd of supporters, he emphasised the urgency of reclaiming Nigeria’s path to progress through collective action.
“The future of our nation depends on our ability to unite and take decisive steps toward real change,” Atiku declared.
“Nigeria deserves better leadership—one that is accountable, inclusive, and focused on the people’s needs rather than political elites,” Atiku said.
The former vice president criticised the current administration’s handling of governance, security, and the economy, arguing that its policies have worsened the country’s challenges.
He insisted that Nigerians must rally behind a new movement to restore hope and deliver good governance.
Atiku also commended Senator Abbo for organising the event, urging him and other political leaders to intensify efforts in mobilising support ahead of the next election cycle.
In his remarks, Senator Abbo reaffirmed his loyalty to Atiku and the movement, stressing that the initiative transcends personal ambition.
“This is about rescuing Nigeria from failed leadership and ensuring that the will of the people prevails,” Abbo stated.
As the event concluded, Atiku’s supporters expressed renewed determination to drive the movement forward, setting the stage for what could be a major political showdown in 2027
