Bandits abduct teenage boy, 6 women in FCT
Armed bandits have kidnapped seven residents — including a teenage boy and six young women — during a late-night attack on Gidan-Bijimi in Kawu ward, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The assailants, reportedly wielding AK-47 rifles, invaded the border community near Marke village on the Kaduna axis at about 9:47 p.m. on Wednesday. Witnesses said the attackers stormed two houses, firing indiscriminately before whisking away victims aged between 16 and 23.
A resident, Suleiman Shuaibu, who confirmed the incident, said local vigilantes attempted to repel the bandits but were outgunned. He revealed that one of the abducted victims is his female cousin, adding that families are yet to be contacted by the kidnappers.
