Bandits kidnap Chief Imam’s wife, kill 1 in Sokoto village

Suspected armed bandits in the early hours of Thursday attacked a village under Dingyadi district of Bodinga local government area of Sokoto State killing one man while they abducted the wife of the chief iman.

Speaking with newsmen on the telephone on Thursday morning, the Senior Special Assistant to the Sokoto Governor, Yusuf Dingyadi said the bandits attacked the village in the early hours of the day.

He said: “Last night, armed bandits reportedly attacked Saketa Village in Dingyadi district of Bodinga Local Government, killing one man and abducting the chief imam’s wife and daughter-in-law,” he said.

Dingyadi district is the home town of Nigeria’s Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi.

Efforts to speak with the image-maker of Nigerian Police in the state, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, were not successful as calls put across to him were not unanswered as at the time of filing this report.
