Bandits launch coordinated attacks, killing 20 including policemen

On Thursday night, bandits carried out a series of coordinated attacks in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, resulting in the deaths of at least 20 people. The victims included two Mobile Police officers and two members of the Civilian Joint Task Force.

The attacks, which targeted six communities – Sheme, Unguwar Baki, Unguwar Na Mande, Raudama, Mai Daura, and Bakin Gulbi also saw houses looted.

The incident was confirmed in a post by security analyst Bakatsine on his official X handle on Friday.

“Yesterday night, bandits coordinated six attacks on Faskari LG. They killed at least 20 people including two Mopol and two CWC and looted houses during the attacks.

“The affected communities are: Sheme, Unguwar Baki, Unguwar Na Mande, Raudama, Mai Daura and Bakin Gulbi,” Bakatsine added.

As of the time of this report, authorities in Katsina State are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
