Bauchi suspends 2 perm secs, one other officer

The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has suspended two permanent secretaries and a chief executive officer for serious misconduct.

The suspended officials include Sa’idu Abubakar, the former state accountant general, Danjuma Garba, and Bala Ibrahim Sabo, the CEO of the Account Department.

The suspension was discussed during the commission’s first extraordinary meeting held on Monday.

In a press statement released on Wednesday, the commission’s public relations officer, Saleh Umar, noted that they reviewed recommendations and documentation regarding the affected officers submitted by the state head of civil service during the session.

Umar stated that the head of service recommended appropriate disciplinary actions against the officials involved.

The commission suspended the officers under Section 0331 of the Bauchi State Public Service Regulations to allow for further investigation, as the matter is currently with the relevant authorities.

He indicated that the suspended officers are currently assigned to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the Ministry of Natural Resources, respectively.
