Blackout as national grid collapses – fourth time in 2024

All parts of Nigeria have been plunged into darkness due to a nationwide power system collapse.

Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) have reported they currently have no power to supply to customers and have issued apologies.

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) informed its customers of the situation, stating, “EEDC wishes to inform her esteemed customers of a general system collapse which occurred at 15:09 hours today, 6th July, 2024. This has resulted in the loss of supply currently being experienced across the network.”
