Boost your memory using mnemonics, by Aliyu Dansale Yahya

Learning should not be just memorizing information. Having a reasonable memory to retain what you comprehend is paramount. As a consequence, I’m getting on, to give some tips that will help all and sundry, I presumed.

Mnemonics are all the practice of psychology research into remembrance skills to improve them (retention skills). However, we should not look over and just pass them without attempting to clash them, or else they will be of no use. Here are some of them that work for me:

Love the forte you are studying: If you desire to understand the terse content of your learning subject you must love it, passion is everything! It’s the only thing that will allow you to go deeper is searching for knowledge from its reliable source. With it, you will always be thirsty to drink from its well. I don’t have to tell you, love is all of all.

Break down the information using the chunking techniques: chunking is about breaking down information into hunks. The method is very straightforward and proposes that smaller pieces of information are easier to remember.

Revise intelligently: You should invariably try to rectify what you learn some time ago, to substantiate that you know its connotation. While reviewing you have to read critically. Pass through every piece of statement. Close the object you are reading from, and ordeal yourself. That’s all in it!

Teach what you learn: Joseph Joubert says: “Teaching is to learn twice!”. And to my knowledge, the best way of retaining input is by conceding/teaching others. This is the part that you should emphasize more. Among the process of teaching, there are things like; replying to questions in forums, discussing orally over the phone, creating content ( such as articles, videos, podcasts, etc), giving training sessions, taking part in conferences, and participating in events.

These ways and much more will be useful for an apprentice that needs to keep his knowledge safe. However, he should never do some of them unless he whizzes the topic.

And, we should also know that human memory is of two types. You use your explicit or declarative memory when you consciously store and access information to express it using language. And, you use your procedural or implicit memory when you repeat movements so that they become automatic.

All in all, my brothers/sisters these are not the only ways you can follow. There are millions of them. Look for them, use them, and remain loyal. If else, you may be unlearning things without your acknowledgment. It will be flying like the speediest bird. And if it goes; it will be hard to get again. Think twice!

May we have useful knowledge and wisdom, amin.
