Boyfriend kills 20-year-old girlfriend, posts picture on WhatsApp

In a horrifying turn of events, a 20-year-old nursing student named Fousiya lost her life at the hands of her boyfriend in Chennai.

Following the heinous act, the perpetrator, identified as Aashiq, displayed a callous disregard for decency by uploading a photo of Fousiya’s body as his WhatsApp status.

Fousiya, originally from Kollam in Kerala, was a dedicated student at Balaji Medical College in Chennai.

Her tragic end was discovered on a fateful Friday when police apprehended Aashiq in connection with her murder. Both Aashiq and Fousiya hailed from the same region in Kerala and had been in a relationship for five years.

However, their relationship was not without controversy. Aashiq had previously been arrested and imprisoned under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act after a questionable “marriage” with Fousiya when she was still a minor and pregnant.

Tragically, Fousiya gave birth to a child who was subsequently placed for adoption at an orphanage in Mysore. Despite his past incarceration, Aashiq rekindled his relationship with Fousiya, who had relocated to Chennai for her studies.

The couple would occasionally stay in hotels whenever Aashiq visited Chennai. This week, Aashiq traveled to Chennai to meet Fousiya, and they stayed in a hotel for 2-3 days.

Following a disturbing discovery on Aashiq’s phone, an altercation erupted between the pair. The argument escalated, culminating in Aashiq strangling Fousiya to death with a T-shirt before fleeing the hotel.

The disturbing incident came to light when Aashiq callously posted a photo of Fousiya’s body as his WhatsApp status, accompanied by a chilling caption suggesting that it was “punishment from his court for breaking the five-year-long relationship.”

Thankfully, alert friends of the victim immediately informed the authorities upon seeing the disturbing status on WhatsApp, leading to the swift arrest of Aashiq.

This tragic affair serves as a poignant and heart-wrenching reminder of the urgent need for heightened awareness and action against domestic violence.
