There are indications that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) website is being attacked by suspected hackers.
The suspected cyber attack is coming amidst alleged attacks on the websites of the State House, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Edo State Government by Anonymous, an international group of hackers.
Anonymous is believed to have launched what is called Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack on the CBN website by overwhelming it with a flood of internet traffic, thereby causing it to shut down after exceeding its capacity.
The group had earlier shared files it claimed to have retrieved from the websites of the Presidency and Edo State government after hacking into them.
